The extension remains inactive by default. It only accesses the content of the email when you decide to process it with the tool to generate an event or follow-up. We do not store the data, we do not sell it.
Mail2Cal asks for the minimum Gmail scopes it needs and only processes the message you have in front of you. The body is sent to Google Gemini for analysis, then discarded. Nothing is kept on our servers, nothing is used to train models.

How accurate is Mail2Cal at detecting dates and times?
Mail2Cal uses Google Gemini to read natural language. It handles relative phrases like "next Tuesday afternoon", multiple languages, and timezone hints. When something is ambiguous, the event is flagged for your review before it is created.
Does Mail2Cal work with all email formats?
Yes. Plain text, formatted HTML, and forwarded invitations all work. Meeting links from Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and others are detected automatically.
Can I control which emails get converted?
Yes. Mail2Cal only processes the email you have open and only when you click. Nothing is synced without your explicit action. You review every extracted detail before the calendar event is created.
Is my email data secure?
Mail2Cal only accesses the email you select, never your full inbox. The body is sent to Google Gemini for analysis and is not stored on our servers, not used to train models, and not shared with third parties.
Can Mail2Cal detect meeting links automatically?
Yes. Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams links are detected and added to the event automatically.
What happens if I want to stop using Mail2Cal?
Uninstall it from the Google Workspace Marketplace at any time. Calendar events you already created stay in your calendar. You can revoke access from your Google Account settings.
